Blinx Remote

Yesterday, Blinx the video search engine launched Blinx Remote – a tool for finding full-length TV programs on the Web.

Binx Remote is able to find shows by title and also episodes by particular season.

Utilising Blinx speech-to-text transcription technology to find episodes and then corroborating search results with information from Wikipedia and IMDB.com, Blinx Remote trawls through more than 7 million hours of online video.

HOWEVER – and that does warrant the caps lock, don’t be fooled into thinking you can now go and watch all of your fave shows for free. Blinx only offers a preview. Once you’ve seen the preview you’ll then need to visit iTunes or another site to view the full version. In most cases there’s a download charge. Unless you’re lucky with a free feed from You Tube.
