Ficlets launched today (through AOL) and it looks pretty cool!
What’s a Ficlet?
A Ficlet is short story. Somewhere between 64 and 1024 characters. It doesn’t have to be a complete story – as the essence of the Ficlet is collaboration. If you wish to write the end of a story. So be it. The opportunity is there for someone else to write the beginning and the middle. And then maybe even a sequel?
It’s all about turning something small into something large. It’s a place to inspire and to be inspired.
Ficlets is operating on a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 License.
I have always liked the idea of the CC licensing.
Getting started is pretty easy with Ficlet. They can provide you with starting point inspiration – themes, suggested beginnings, past examples and also visual inspiration by means of tapping into a tag search through Flickr.
You can sign in to Ficlets using OpenID (easy as pie) and once you’re in everything is pretty straight forward and a breeze.
I think I’m going to really like this site. I’m off to write a story!
